The very first South East Bloggers event took place on Thursday 27th September at the gorgeous Layer Marney Tower, near Colchester. Together with our co-organisers Voice Communications and Indy Consultancy, we opened our doors to dozens of keen bloggers who were eager to connect with some of the county’s most exciting brands.
For two hours between 7pm and 9pm, bloggers milled from stall to stall, soaking up the buzzing atmosphere and chatting non-stop with business owners. Interactive games from Garden Games Hire UK kept guests on their toes; the huge range of fun props on offer from Betty Booths meant that everyone in attendance was eventually coaxed into their photobooth; and, alongside the Prosecco and fruit juices supplied by the organisers, we were treated to a variety of delicious treats from Prested Hall, Perrywoods, Fairfield Crisps, Shaken Udder and Cupcake Daisy. New-wave fitness brand Results with Lucy were on hand to chat about their new programmes and bold local brands Secret Hamper, Lillypuds, Metallic Elephant and Cooknst were proving to be a real draw for everyone lucky enough to receive an invite to this innovative event. Ben White Music provided soulful acoustic sounds, adding an extra dynamic to the venue.
Local charity The Brainwave Centre also attended to spread the word about the great work they’re doing in the local community. Brainwave supports children with disabilities in achieving greater independence through a range of educational and physical therapies.
We have already received some amazing feedback from the event, and many bloggers and brands commented on the valuable connections they have made during and after the evening itself.
