FSE Digital set about creating an SEO strategy to drive traffic for target keyword searches such as Suffolk holiday cottages, pet friendly cottages, countryside cottages, Lavenham cottages, and Framlingham cottages. Collectively, these target keywords have a monthly search volume of over 40,000. This work involved optimising existing content for their services pages and providing new content, as well as building additional service pages.
We conducted a health check of their website and fixed any technical errors that were affecting performance as well as optimising their Google Search Console.
We also collaborated with the client to introduce a calendar of regular blog content and news articles, focusing on internal link building to improve rankings.
Additionally, we carried out a programme of external link building, sourcing prestigious placements like the Visit Bury St Edmunds website, overall this significantly improved domain authority.
We recommended the client move to a new domain, from idyllicsuffolk.com to idylliccottages.com to allow for a broader target market, no longer limiting the brand to Suffolk. This move also supported the owner’s franchising plans, making it easier to establish the brand in new locations. With a properly thought out migration checklist, we were able to switch domains easily within the space of a month with no detriment to search rankings. Typically this can take several months for a website migration of this scale.
We continue to work with Idyllic Cottages to maintain their SEO presence and improve their
rankings further, solidifying their strong positions on the first page of Google.
